Being a visual learner, she believes it is important to use imagery
as a means of communication. Now, as a designer, she can help
make imagery that will convey messages clearly.
FUN FACTS
She has loved rock climbing since she was little. It all started
when she was four years old and climbed the side of Mickey's
house in Disney World.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES
When she is not in the studio, she hikes. A Lot. She also takes
many photographs and makes tons of smoothies.

She always has to be creating or crafting something. Other than designing, she does a lot of painting and jewelry making. She also has two cats, a gecko, and a fish!

Her hobbies include painting, crafting, designing, occasionally longboarding, and being with her friends making great memories.
WHY DESIGN?
She chose design because she has always been a creative and artistic person, but she didn’t know how to use her skills in real life. She felt drawn to designing because it seemed to be a great way to combine she skills with a career.

Some of her favorite artists include Salvador Dali, We Are All Corrupted,
Jeral Tidwell, Sarah Tidwell, and Miranda Meeks.

He chose design because it allows him to think creatively and

One day she would love to be able to create and design for

She has chronic hiccups and hasn't gone a day without getting
them in over 6 months.
FAVORITE ARTISTS/DESIGNERS
Edward Hopper is one of her favorite artists of all time and his
work (specifically Nighthawks) is what originally got her interest
in art history, which is now her minor.
WHY DESIGN?
She chose design because it's the perfect combination of art
and technology, which are two things that she has been drawn
to her entire life.

She specializes in animated motion graphics, both 2D and 3D.
FREE TIME ACTIVITIES
In addition to digital artwork, she also very much enjoys working traditionally, in 2D and 3D. She likes to draw, paint, sculpt, and sew. She also loves caring for her potted plants.

She loves to travel and will do so at every opportunity. So far, she's visited 4 continents. She feels very at home when out in nature.

ASPIRATIONS IN DESIGN
She really just wants to do the best design work that she can
do, whether that be for a design firm or as an in house designer.
WHY DESIGN?
She chose design because she was always a creative person but she never really knew what to do with it. It wasn't until one of her high school classes was traded out for a design class that she really started thinking about doing it as a career.

She originally planned on pursuing music education in college.
In the meantime, a friend suggested she join the design class
offered at our school. Ashlyn never looked back!

Ashley's aspirations in design involve the incorporation of her
abilities as a storyteller, primarily through illustration; she would love to pursue a career pathway that best allows her to utilize her sense of vibrancy and imagination, perhaps as a designer for children’s books or movies.
