Members of Studio 165+ went to Indianapolis to an AIGA Indianapolis event to see guest speaker Erik Marinovich — a San Francisco-based lettering artist and designer. As the co-founder of Friends of Type, he’s spent the last several years drawing more letters, type, and logos than you could even fathom. In 2012 he co-founded Title Case, a creative workspace that conducts workshops and lectures in order to share his learnings with others. Marinovich met students and discussed design as he signed Friends of Type postcards. After the event, Studio 165+ met with Ball State Alumni for dinner to network and get advice about how the design industry is changing and some advice they had for current students who were preparing to graduate.
