Annual Juried Student Show

OVERVIEW:
Every year Ball State University School of Art organizes a Juried Student Show. The artworks included in the show are produced by students enrolled in various SOA programs during the previous year. This annual event provides students the opportunity to participate in a professional exhibition where a qualified juror selects artwork and artistic awards of distinction.
RESULTS:
For the 2026 design, we went with a circus theme, depicting a carnival scene representing all of the moving parts within the School of Art. The poster resembles vintage circus advertisements with a focus on typography to convey information. featuring trails and animals in their native habitats, and the animals come together to form a harmonious ecosystem, which symbolizes the diversity, freedom of exploration, and creativity of the School of Art as a whole. Different “park badges” were also made into stickers and handed out to SoA students at the Art Show reception, so each major was provided with a fun takeaway to represent their major of study.
